'A Touch of Christmas' concert to feature Brach Thomson and friends
“A Touch of Christmas,” featuring Brach Thomson and friends, is an annual fundraising concert to benefit the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre. This year’s show will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets will be available at the Playhouse Box Office one hour prior to the performance or at http://bigforksummerplayhouse.com.
Thomson, the artistic director and general manager of the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre, is also an accomplished musician. All music has been arranged to add a fun twist to favorite Christmas tunes. He will play rock, fusion, jazz, funk, blues and more, to familiar Christmas favorites. Sometimes he might sound like Mannheim Steamroller and then again the sound may emulate TranSiberian Orchestra. All of the numbers are arranged by Thomson as he plays live on multiple keyboards, synthesizers and the piano.
Other groups will join him on stage, adding to the Christmas spirit — the BPCT Choirs and 5 & Holding. These are youth groups comprised of local students who practice tirelessly for this and other musical events during the year.
This is a special night of holiday music to benefit the educational opportunities provided by the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre. More than 3,500 children are reached by the BPCT during the year. The theater presents four live productions, providing a unique opportunity to hundreds of local young people, both on stage as well as behind the scenes learning technical skills. In addition, there are numerous classes offering training in performance skills. Many more children have their first experience with live theater as guests of BPCT, transported to performances by local schools.
BPCT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Tickets are $8 with all proceeds benefiting the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre. For more information, call 406-837-4886 or visit http://bigforksummerplayhouse.com/childrens-theatre.
