Prep Football Eureka bombs Florence; Bigfork slips by Townsend

FLORENCE — Mason Davis recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown and ran 13 yards for another score and Brenton Pluid returned a punt 76 yards for touchdown as big plays helped Eureka (6-0 overall, 4-0 league) waltz by Florence-Carlton 56-20 in a Class B West football game Friday night.

Garrett Graves had touchdown runs of 16, 42 and 6 yards for undefeated Eureka.

Jake Kindel had scoring runs of 3 and 1 yard.

Eureka had 333 yards in total offense to 210 for Florence.

Graves was 8 of 15 passing for 105 yards and rushed 14 times for 102 yards.

Chet McCully had 79 yards on 14 attempts.

Hank Dunn led Eureka receivers with two catches for 40 yards.

Eureka led 28-8 at the half.

BIGFORK — Two big plays in the opening quarter was just enough to lift Bigfork over Townsend (2-4) in a Class A nonconference contest.

Randy Stultz ripped off a 32-yard touchdown run and quarterback Augie Emslie hit Anders Epperly on a 44-yard scoring pass.

Bigfork (5-0) led 13-0 at the half.

Bigfork had 272 yards of total offense to 134 for Townsend.

Emslie was 6 of 21 passing for 63 yards.

Stultz provided the bulk of the offense, rushing for 199 yards on 31 carries. He averaged 6.4 yards per attempt. He also had two receptions for nine yards.

Luke Taylor added 36 yards on nine rushes for Bigfork.

Epperly had two receptions for 47 yards.

TROY — Landers Smith opened the Charlo scoring with a 33-yard punt return for a touchdown and Tyson Petticrew and Toby Odem followed with scoring runs of 40 and 49 yards, respectively, in a lopsided 8-man victory over Troy.

Charlo led 52-0 at the half.

Dylan Cummings scored on a 25-yard pass from Tyler Gromley for Troy in the fourth quarter.

BROWNING — The lights shut down in the third quarter of a tight Northwestern A contest between Libby and Browning.

They were turned back on after a brief delay, but things never got brighter for Libby.

The Indians outscored the Loggers 30-0 in the second half, including 24-0 after the light delay, to run away with a win.

With the victory, Browning (3-4, 2-1) moved into a tie for second place in Northwestern A with Polson, whom the Indians face next Friday.

Libby (1-6, 0-3) meets Ronan at home at 7 p.m. next Friday.
