A trip to Missoula next week for the Class AA state soccer tournament is on the line for Missoula Hellgate (3-8-1 regular season league record) and Glacier (8-3-1) today.

The girls match begins at 2 p.m. at the Glacier Athletic Complex.

This will be the third meeting of the season for the two schools. Glacier won the previous two — 5-0 and 2-0.

Glacier is the third seed in Western AA while Hellgate is No. 6.

Hellgate beat seventh-seed Flathead in a play-in game on Tuesday in Missoula 4-0 for the right to play Glacier.

Glacier finished off the regular season back on Oct. 12 with a 3-2 victory over rival Flathead.

Earlier in the week the Wolfpack blasted Sentinel 9-3 as Cadie Williams, a senior forward, set a school record for goals in a match with six goals. She had two more against Flathead.

Williams scored in both meetings with Hellgate.

Glacier had lost three straight before the win over Sentinel.

Glacier missed out on state play last year, dropping a play-in match to Flathead.

State play begins next Thursday at Fort Missoula Regional Park. The Glacier/Hellgate winner will play Billings Skyview, the second seed from Eastern AA, on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the first round.

Tournament play concludes on Sunday.
