Flathead finishes 4th at Missoula volleyball

MISSOULA — Flathead finished fourth on Friday at the Missoula Invitational volleyball tournament.

Flathead, winners of the Sentinel Pool on Thursday, started the day by losing to third-ranked Glacier, 23-25, 25-19, 15-11 in the quarterfinals. Glacier then lost to Corvallis 2-0 in the semifinals.

Helena Capital edged Flathead 2-1 in the third-place match.

Second-ranked Missoula Sentinel beat Corvallis 25-10, 25-12 in the title tilt.

Helena High was the consolation champion.

Whitefish defeated Great Falls C.M. Russell for third place in the consolation round.

In other consolation action, Columbia Falls beat Whitefish in the quarterfinals, but the Wildkats lost to Missoula Hellgate in the semfinals.
