Club screens 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?'

| October 26, 2017 1:55 PM

The Historic Film Club will screen “O Brother, Where Art Thou?,” at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at the Museum at Central School. This event is free and open to the public.

It has been compared to Homer’s “Odyssey” but with a southern gothic, Depression-era twist; Joel and Ethan Coen’s “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” portrays three somewhat bumbling escaped convicts in 1930s Mississippi who find themselves in one ridiculous situation after another, all in search of a buried treasure that may or may not exist. The film stars George Clooney and Tim Blake Nelson, as well as John Turturro and John Goodman. It is rated PG-13.

There is no charge for the film, but donations will be accepted to help defray the cost of acquiring and showing the films. The movie and popcorn are free; wine, beer, pop and water will be for sale. Seating is provided, but film fans can bring their own floor pillows, portable chairs, or whatever is comfortable for viewing the film.

The Museum at Central School is located at 124 Second Ave. E., Kalispell. For more information, call 406-756-8381.
