Family-friendly fun on Halloween

Flathead Lake Brewing Co. costume party

The Flathead Lake Brewing Co. Pubhouse in Bigfork will be holding a costume party on Saturday, Oct. 28. Come dressed in your best Halloween costume for a chance to win prizes, including lift tickets to Whitefish Mountain Resort. Costume categories will be scariest, funniest, best couple and best overall costumes. Judging will be at 8 p.m. There will also be treats for all children who come dressed up.

On Tuesday, Oct. 31, the Pubhouse will be passing out candy on the front porch all day. “Haunted Hours” from 3 to 6 p.m. will also include killer deals on food and drinks.

Bigfork Haunted House event

The Lake View Healthcare Community will hold a haunted house event from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27 and Saturday, Oct. 28. The haunted house will feature more than 17 scenes and 30 actors each night. Admission is a suggested donation for the Bigfork Food Bank or Bigfork non-funded sports.

Halloween Family Boo Run in Whitefish

The third annual Halloween Family Boo Run, hosted by the Whitefish Theatre Co., will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28. This Halloween-themed event includes a 5K run/walk with prizes awarded for best costumes. Post-race food and fun is provided. Halloween costumes are encouraged at the event but not required.

The race begins and ends at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish. There are three ways to register: Fill out a registration form located at https://www.whitefishtheatreco.org and mail or drop off the form at the O’Shaughnessy Center; call 406-862-5371 and register over the phone with the box office; or same-day race registration will be available from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday.

Cost is $20 for adults and $12 for children 12 and younger. A $50 family pass is available for families of four or more people.

Mall-o-ween in Kalispell

The Kalispell Center Mall is holding its annual “Mall-o-ween” event from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31. There will be a kids’ costume contest, games and trick-or-treating.

Nurturing Center Halloween Party

The Nurturing Center of Kalispell will be hosting a Halloween Party from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, for the general public to come and trick-or-treat, take photos, get a special ice cream treat and more. Families can also learn more about the many services that the Nurturing Center provides; all staff will be available to answer questions.

Halloween Movie and Carnival

Brookside Yard in Bigfork is hosting a Halloween Movie and Carnival event. The carnival begins at 4 p.m. and then at dusk Brookside will be showing Tim Burton’s “Nightmare Before Christmas.” Admission to the movie is free. Tickets will be available for purchase for the carnival games. All proceeds from the carnival are donated to Bigfork ACES after-school and summer camp program.

Halloween Kids’ Party

The North Valley Eagles Club will have a Kids Halloween Party from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31. Downstairs at the club, children can bob for apples, pick out a pumpkin in the pumpkin patch, do crafts, and enjoy food and drinks.

‘Trunk or Treat’

The Flathead Valley Community College Veterans’ Association and Student Government present “Trunk or Treat” from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31 — a safe, fun and free one-stop trick-or-treating event for families. Come in costume to check out the decked-out vehicle trunks full of treats for the little boos and ghouls.

“Trunk or Treat” will take place in the college’s west parking lot off U.S. 93 in Kalispell. Guests are encouraged to wear costumes. This event is free and open to the public.

Veterans Home offers Trick-or-Treat event

The Montana Veterans Home will be holding its annual “Trick or Treat” for children from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31. The residents are excited to be handing out the candy again this year.

Trick-or-Treat Night

The Village at Sunburst is opening its doors for the second year in a row to host a safe and fun Trick-or-Treat Night for kids in the community. Children and parents will be able to trick-or-treat through the building in a safe environment. There will also be refreshments, games, music and a costume contest with prizes.
