The Montana Chamber of Commerce is hitting the road for its fall Montana Business Agenda tour.

The group will be at the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce, 15 Depot Park, at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, and at the Whitefish Chamber of Commerce, 307 Spokane Ave., at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept.7. Other area meetings include a session at noon on Thursday, Sept. 7, at the Front Porch Grill, 307 Dewey Ave. in Eureka; 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at the Venture Inn in Libby; and 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at the Red Lion Hotel in Polson.

The state chamber staff will meet with local chambers, prospective members and the media. On the agenda are the state chamber’s accomplishments during the 2017 Legislature and the Envision 2026 10-year strategic plan for Montana.

Learn about financial statements, government contracting

Robert Much from the Native American Development Corp. PTAC will conduct a workshop, “Understanding Financials,” from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the Confederated Salish Kootenai Tribes IT computer training room in the lower level of the Old Tribal Complex in Pablo.

It will cover the basics of balance sheets and income statements, plus performance ratios compared to industry standards. Following the training, Much will also be available from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 20 for government contracting counseling assistance.

If you are interested in doing business with the government and want assistance with obtaining your SAM registration, obtaining Duns number and registering with SBA’s small business website, Much will meet with you at Sovereign Leasing and Financing on Sept. 20.

Managing public lands is focus of Col. Falls Chamber lunch

The Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce general membership luncheons resume on Tuesday, Sept. 12.

The lunch begins at 11:45 a.m. and run to 1 p.m. at the North Valley Hospital Tea Kettle Room, 235 Nucleus Ave. in Columbia Falls.

This month’s topic is collaboration to find a path forward for managing public lands.

Amy Robinson of Montana Wilderness Association and Paul McKenzie with F.H. Stoltze Land & Lumber Co. will share their experience of finding common ground among widely varied interests in managing public lands.

Blueprint for Business looks at ‘people’ challenges

The next Blueprint for Business Success session in Kalispell will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, at the Flathead Valley Community College Arts and Technology Building, Room 139.

The meeting starts at noon, runs one hour and is free of charge.

Cheri Nelson of Express Employment Professionals in Kalispell will deliver key success principles that equip leaders to confront and overcome their daily “people” challenges in the workforce.
