History Book Club to meet Sept. 14

The History Book Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at the Museum at Central School, 124 Second Ave. E., Kalispell. The public is invited.

The group will be discussing “Healy’s West; the Life and Times of John J. Healy” by Gordon Tolton.

John J. Healy was one of the West’s most influential and charismatic figures. The book tells his story from the Irish potato famine to his many adventures in the Canadian and American West. He was a soldier, a trapper, a prospector, a trader, an explorer, a horse dealer, a lawman, a newspaper editor, a merchant, a historian and a politician.
