No tolerance for illegal parkers

An individual contacted the Whitefish Police Department to report a trailer parked in a handicapped space. The trailer was allegedly in the spot so construction workers could unload heavy materials. They reportedly stated it was the closest spot available and noted another handicapped space was vacant in the parking lot. The reporting party was upset because the trailer was not being forced to move because “by law they cannot be there.” Law enforcement spoke with the workers and found a solution to allow them to complete their work. An officer left a message for the reporting party.

A male reportedly stumbled out of a gray Ford truck at a Whitefish gas station. The male was described as possibly in his 20s, wearing a hat and a sleeveless shirt. Law enforcement made contact with the male an arrested him. Dispatch called a tow service to remove his vehicle.

A business owner reported he had between 20 and 30 abandoned vehicles on his property. The caller told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office that he wished to gain ownership of the vehicles and auction them off. An officer spoke with the reporting party.

A female reportedly contacted dispatch and said someone told her law enforcement had been looking for her and wanted to know why. The caller allegedly had multiple theft warrants out for her arrest. When a deputy told the caller about the warrants she refused to meet with him and hung up on the officer.

A caller reportedly saw a large black cat that looked “like a panther.” The cat reportedly had a 3-foot-long tail.

An individual reported a male renter was inside his residence and allegedly touching his 15-year-old daughter on the leg while she was asleep. The caller said they also reported the incident to Child Protective Services of Montana.

A female reported while she was out of town, her neighbor had individuals bale hay on her property without her permission and now they believed the hay was theirs. Law enforcement responded to the scene and counseled all parties involved who later came to an agreement.

A female reported her car was stolen by a male who had allegedly been driving her vehicle and refused to stop. She said he kept driving around and yelled at her to get out near Wal-Mart. The vehicle was described as a reddish-purple Mitsubishi Eclipse.
