FVCC invites community to fall concert series

| September 14, 2017 2:11 PM

As part of its Fall Concert Series, FVCC’s Music Department will host three faculty concerts in September and October. Free and open to the community, all concerts begin at 7 p.m. in the large meeting room of the Arts and Technology Building on the Kalispell campus.

Guest performing group Cowboy Country and the Gold Dust Girls will kick off the series on Sept. 15 with country, Cajun and bluegrass tunes. FVCC faculty members Wai Mizutani and Nicole S. Sanford will accompany the group.

On Sept. 22, Mizutani will perform a tribute to legendary violin virtuosos, including “Zigeunerweisen” by Pablo de Sarasate, “Devil’s Trill Sonata” by Guiseppe Tartini, “Le Streghe Op. 8” by Niccolò Paganini and many more. Mizutani will be accompanied by Alma Ramlow and Ladeine Thompson.

The final faculty concert in the series will be held on Oct. 27 and will feature performances by several faculty members, including Micah Hunter, Amy Beth Chisholm, Sanford and Mizutani. The FVCC Choral Ensemble will accompany the faculty members in “Jesu, Meine Freude” by Dietrich Buxtehude.
