Harry Sargent Shorey Jr., 96

Harry Sargent Shorey Jr., 96, died peacefully at home on Sept. 15, 2017, surrounded by family.

Born and raised in Corinth, New York, Harry achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and graduated Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering, which led to his service in the Army Air Corps as a bomber pilot during World War II.

Following his military career, Harry married Patricia Singer Shorey in 1943, and the couple moved to New Jersey. Harry worked in the textile industry for 30 years, before working for the Con-tinental Corp-oration until his retirement. Upon retirement, Harry and Pat moved to Montana to enjoy the lakes and mountains.

Harry was predeceased by his wife, Patricia, of 60 years; his daughter, Isabel Noble; his daughter-in-law, Lynn B. Shorey; and three sisters.

He is survived by his children, Harry Sargent Shorey III and his wife Hannah, Jan S. LeBaron and her husband Bill, A. Peter Shorey and his fiancé Linda Joens, and Carol S. Reid; and by his son-in-law, Cecil Noble, sister-in-law, Isabel Marriott, brother-in-law, Arthur L. Singer Jr. and his wife Joan; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
