Dorene Butler, 67

| September 20, 2017 7:21 PM

Dorene Butler, born Oct. 30, 1949, led a full and energetic life until illness and her untimely passing took her from us on Aug. 12, 2017. She graduated from Pacific Palisades High School in Los Angeles, attended Pacific University, traveled the world with Chapman College and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Cal State University, Northridge.

She traveled widely in India, Africa, South America and then in the U.S. and Canada with friends and her husband. Natural landscapes and small towns were her favorite places and where she made many friends.

Dorene appreciated beautiful and whimsical things that displayed the luster of age, epitomized by her vast salt and pepper shaker collection. She loved wild and domestic animals, particularly her cats. Dorene supported birding societies, garden clubs, and was a generous contributor to the Kalispell Food Bank.

She is survived by her brother Douglas Butler and sister Debra Butler James, and former husband Mike Evans. Her family and friends miss her!
