Bonne Germain, 75

| September 23, 2017 9:25 PM

Our sweet Mama, Bonne Germain, 75, passed away on Sept. 17, 2017, in Pleasant Hill, California. Her daughters Lia Germain and Terra Germain de Neeve were with her until the end.

She is at peace.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. on Oct. 15 at Lone Pine State Park, in the pavilion. We will have a short memorial and then travel to West Shore State Park to honor Mom’s last wishes on Flathead Lake.

Bonne is survived by her brother, Artie McCormick of Florida, and her sister, Alanna McCormick of Kalispell; and her daughters, Lia Germain, Sevy Boutette, and Terra Germain de Neeve, son-in-law John de Neeve, and grandchildren, Jacob Germain, Sophia de Neeve and Cameron de Neeve.

Bonne was born in Florida and at 16 years old started her lifelong love of books and selling books. She moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, where she ran a successful used bookstore called The Old Corner BookShop. Her bohemian spirit kept her seeking new adventures, leading her to Montana. In Kalispell, she continued to run her book shops, the last being Club Algiers. Club Algiers was a central location for movies, plays, community events, and Mom was always there with a cup of coffee and a friendly face. She loved to talk metaphysics and history or whatever. Bonne had a wise, worldly way about her that people loved.

Mom was an artist. Her art was original and special to her. She found great peace while drawing. Those that know of her art would agree they are one-of-a-kind pieces. Bright, bold colors and deep, feeling eyes were her trademark. Her art was how she lived life — boldly and without fear, a free spirit.

Rest in peace, beloved Mom, Grandma, sister, friend ... you will be missed.

Please send condolences to Lia Germain, 837 Treehaven Court, Pleasant Hill CA 94523; or Terra Germain de Neeve, 670 Concord Lane, Kalispell MT 59901.
