No. 5 Montana Tech destroys No. 23 E. Oregon

BUTTE — Montana Tech overwhelmed Eastern Oregon 62-14 in a matchup of nationally ranked Frontier Conference programs.

The No. 5 Orediggers (4-0 Frontier, 4-0 overall) scored six first-half touchdowns against the No. 23 Mountaineers (1-2, 1-3) and quarterback Quinn McQueary threw for 341 yards and five touchdowns and ran for another in the blowout victory. Tech running back Jed Fike ran for 174 yards on 11 carries.

Reid Siderius (Glacier) had six tackles and two pass breakups and Tucker Rauthe (Glacier) had five tackles, two pass breakups for Tech. Cam Nissen (Bigfork) had three tackles, Ike Schweikert (Columbia Falls) had two tackles, Will Davey (Polson) one tackle.

No. 13 Southern Oregon 35, Carroll 14

ASHLAND, Ore. — Southern Oregon scored 35 first-half points and held off the Saints to stay unbeaten in conference.

The Raiders scored on a 50-yard run on the second play from scrimmage and never slowed down as Tanner Trosin threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more before halftime.

Carroll scored two touchdowns in the second half but couldn’t break through.

Dylan Torgerson (Flathead) made both of the extra point attempts and had a tackle and six punts. Brian FauntLeRoy (Whitefish) also had one tackle for the Saints.

Montana Western 61, MSU-Northern 7

HAVRE — Montana Western scored 34 points in just the second quarter in a rout of MSU-Northern.

Western forced six turnovers in the win and quarterback Bennett Gibson passed for 295 yards and three touchdowns.

George Sherwood (Flathead) had two catches for 54 yards and three punts.

Rocky Mountain 31,

College of Idaho 7

BILLINGS — Rocky Mountain scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to pull away for a win over College of Idaho.

Rocky notched a field goal early in the final frame to give itself a cushion and quarterback Jacob Baaken ran in a touchdown before backup Drew Korf connected on an 11-yard pass to Lucas Overton to seal the win with less than a minute to play.

The Bears defense forced five turnovers in the game. Jared Gallatin (Polson) had one tackle for Rocky.
