Parking lot camper raises concern
A grocery store employee contacted the Whitefish Police Department to report a male in a red Jeep with a tire strapped to the top had been camping in the parking lot for two days. The camper in question had been contacted by law enforcement that morning and was authorized by store management to remain on site.
A driver told dispatch they had extensive concerns about speeding on U.S. 93, and that a fawn was hit because another driver was speeding the day before. The caller requested additional patrols in the area and requested to speak with an officer about his concerns, including getting the speed limit changed.
A caller reported her husband was trying to start their vehicle when a strange male got inside and reportedly refused to leave. The male then exited the vehicle and was allegedly hanging on the outside of it. The couple were eventually able to drive away and the male continued to chase them on foot. Officers were unable to locate the male in question.
An individual reported that people appeared to be sleeping inside a silver Jeep that was parked and running behind a hotel. Law enforcement made contact with the individuals in question and found that they were just “enjoying some private time.”
