Annabelle 'Iris' Carroll, 86

Iris Carroll passed away peacefully at the Immanuel Lutheran Home of Kalispell on April 1, 2018.

Iris was born to Paul and Ada Weston on July 3,1931, in Harrison County, Iowa, where she grew up and married.

She moved to Kalispell in 1954 where she spent most of her life.

Iris was known for her strong work ethic and amazing sense of humor. Iris had several jobs, but was best known for working at JCPenney’s for many years. After retirement she volunteered her service to the Red Cross organization and was well recognized for her work.

Iris is survived by her eldest sister, Marge Giermann, of Kalispell, age 98; and her six children, Bill Glidden (Peggy) of Kalispell, Holly Chernish (Brian) of Kalispell, Tim Glidden (Kelly) of Kalispell, Shellie Hawks (late Daryl) of Hillsboro, Washington, Patty Keller (late Terry) of Lake Havasu, Arizona, and Charlie Arnold (Faith) of Libby;13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, lots of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mom’s favorite things to do included playing Scrabble or pinochle with her family, baseball and reading. She was always up for some singing, dancing or whatever adventure that might come her way. Iris cared for and enjoyed a large group of friends and family. She will be deeply missed by many.

The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the doctors and staff at both Heritage Place and Immanuel Lutheran Home for the care afforded to Mom.

Cremation has taken place and will be followed by a celebration of life/memorial service at a later date.
