Art and design professionals to speak at Kalispell gathering

| April 4, 2018 6:51 PM

Where do art, design, and theater collide? At this week’s PechaKucha gathering, of course! The quick-format lecture series gives speakers from a variety of disciplines the opportunity to take the floor for a short talk to both inform and inspire. This quarter’s theme is art and design in the Flathead Valley.

PechaKucha is a format for community members to share their creative interests, ideas and views through the 20 x 20 format. Each presenter has 20 seconds to talk about 20 different images for a total of 6 minutes and 40 seconds of exciting content.

This month’s lineup features abstract painter Tessa Heck, theater professor Rich Haptonstall, graphic designer Elma Giavasis, art therapist Lindsay Martin, tattoo artist Jake Bertelsen, artist Kristy Overman, architect Zach George, costume designer Sarah Brooke Bell and oil painter Richie Carter.

Kalispell PechaKucha Night will take place from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5 at Highline Design Company, located at 136 Second Street West in Kalispell.

The group is always looking for local people with a creative spirit, a great story or the simple desire to share their thoughts on something inspiring. Follow Kalispell PechaKucha on Facebook at www.facebook.com/kalispellpk/ or visit www.pechakucha.org/cities/kalispell for more information. To be considered to speak at a future event, email kalispellpk@gmail.com or hello@highlinemt.com.

Events are held quarterly and are free to the public.
