Ella Mae Knebel passed away on April 8, 2018. She was in the loving arms of her family at Immanuel Skilled Care Center.

Ella Mae was born in Havre on May 15, 1921. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, aunt and friend.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir for many, many years and served as an Elder. She was also active in Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and Home Demonstration Club. She enjoyed volunteering at the surgical desk at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Harvey Leroy, in June 2010 and son, Joseph Leroy, in September 2016. Also, by her parents, Joseph Alexander and Jenny Hewitson, brother Joe, and sisters Dorothy Furlong and Marian Bucholz.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Diane Knebel (John Pedone) and Janet Louise Kosior (John); her two grandsons, Jeremy Desmond (Charlotte Anne) and Jayme Cameron (Natalia A. Liapounova); three great-granddaughters, Lana Elizabeth, Margo Ella Mae and Valeriya Ava, and several nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered for her kindness and love of family and friends. Ella Mae was very creative and thoroughly enjoyed her arts and crafts projects. She led a full and rich life that she loved, right until the end.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ella Mae’s name can be made to the First Presbyterian Church or to a charity of your choosing.

Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 540 South Main St., Kalispell, on Saturday, April 14 at 2 p.m.

Interment will follow at Conrad Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home.
