No. 25304 Opportunity to Object to the Cold Jim Fuels Reduction and Forest Health Project Draft Decision Notice and Finding of No Significant Impact The Draft Decision Notice (DN)/Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Cold Jim Fuels Reduction and Forest Health Project is now available. The project area includes approximately 33,289 acres of land within the Swan Lake Ranger District of the Flathead National Forest in Lake and Missoula Counties, Montana. It extends north and west of Condon on the west side of MT Highway 83. The Responsible Official for this project is Forest Supervisor Chip Weber. The Responsible Official intends to select Alternative C Modified as the Selected Alternative. Under the Selected Alternative, approximately 740 acres of commercial harvest, 189 acres of precommercial thinning, and 3 resource enhancement projects would take place. Vegetation management activities will be accessed through an estimated 3.1 miles of temporary road. The Selected Alternative also includes 1.9 miles of road decommissioning.
