Steven Larry Birky passed away April 12, 2018 at age 63 from a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born July 1, 1954 in Whitefish to Vernon Larry Birky and Dorothy A. (Norris) Birky.

He graduated from Flathead High School in 1972 and went to work for Chainsaw Sales and Service as a small engine mechanic. He later went logging with his uncle Jonas until 1985 when he was injured in a woods accident. He was a bodyman and fiberglasser for years.

He married Renee Pritchett and a son, Jacob Larry Birky, was born in 1990. He joined big sister Terra. Steven and Renee later divorced.

In 1995 he was diagnosed with cervical dystonia for which he became a donor.

He is survived by his son Jake and girlfriend Jeinna, stepdaughter Terra, her husband Gary and their three children, Zander, Natilie and Gabrielle.

He is also survived by sister Patsy Holt and four nieces: Corinne (Kirt), Johnna (Leonard), Sandra (Jim) and Alaina (David), as well as many great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Also one aunt, Lois Birky, and good friend Jeff Morton.

He was predeceased by his parents, brother-in-law Richard Holt and his uncle Jonas Birky.

He was cremated and a family gathering is planned for later this summer with interment in Conrad Memorial Cemetery, with date and time to be announced later.
