Edie Hey, 70
Edie Hey “met her Lord and Savior” on April 11, 2018.
This beautiful lady lived her life for Christ, her family, and her friends. She was a faithful follower of the Lord, wife to the love of her life, Ernie, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, leader, teacher, healer, fighter, prayer warrior, and Wonder Woman.
She was born on March 5, 1948, on a North Dakotan farm, with friendly cows and vicious roosters. The youngest of nine, she found more adventures and treasurers than the grains of wheat waving in the prairie sun.
She met the love of her life, Ernie, in Missoula, and knew during their first dance that they would spend the rest of their lives together. They were not a couple, they were one. Unstoppable love brought three beautiful daughters into this world. Sarah, who married Joseph Gracey, and had Mae and Bridget; Rachel who married Jesse Flattum, and had Evelyn and Juniper; Rebecca who married Randall Schreiner and had Stella, James, Louis and Madeline. Mom spent every moment helping her family grow in God’s love, and the grace of Jesus. She would say that every breath was numbered, and should be considered a blessing. Never a waster of time, or a mincer of words, every moment was lived to the fullest. Each step of her journey though life was overflowing with love, laughter, spice, sass, and strength. Gifted with a servant’s heart, she applied her many talents to helping wherever she was needed at Hope Church.
She was a mighty prayer warrior, who regularly asked for angels to protect her family, and all of those she loved. Walking the Lord’s path and sharing his Word were her top priorities.
Isaiah 57:1 says, “The righteous are called home early.” While we are missing here on earth, all of heaven is rejoicing with her return.
A celebration will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, at Hope Church, with food and reception to follow.
If you wish, in lieu of flowers, please support “Hope is Here” at Evergreen Junior High School.
It was Edie’s wish that everyone wear bright colors.
