Six Flathead Valley athletes have logged the top time or mark in Montana in their respective track and field events thus far this season, according to a new Montana Elite Track & Field list released Wednesday.

Glacier’s Ethan Larson is the only local athlete to top the state in two events, besting the field by fairly wide margins in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes.

Annie Hill, a Glacier distance runner, is the only athlete from the Valley to appear in the top three in three different events. She holds the top time in the 800 and the second-best mark in the 1600 and 3200.

Hill trails only Bigfork’s Bryn Morley in the 1600, and Morley is second behind Hill in the 800.

Both Glacier boys relay teams hold the fastest time in the state. The 400-meter relay team holds the state’s top time by nearly half a second, and the 1600-meter relay team is also well clear of the field.

Chad Hemsley currently possesses the mark to beat in the 300-meter hurdles, and he joins brothers Camas Rinehart and Dawson Rinehart as one of three Flathead athletes to appear in the top six in the state in the event.

Flathead’s Ben Perrin has the fastest time in Montana in the 3200-meter run.

Glacier jumper Hunter Nicholson is first in the triple jump by a 10-inch margin. He is also third in the long jump but sits just 1.5 inches out of the lead.

Other Flathead Valley athletes who cracked the top three in the state include Glacier’s Drew Turner (second in 200), Elijah Boyd (third in 800), Drew Deck (third in 300 hurdles) and Adrian Schnee (third in 300 hurdles), Flathead’s Madison Boles (second in high jump) and Michael Lee (third in shot put) and Columbia Falls’ Angellica Street (second in javelin).
