City of Kalispell releases pavement restoration list for 2018

The city of Kalispell has released the list of roads scheduled for pavement restoration projects in the 2018 construction season.

The restoration involves asphalt milling and overlay, patching potholes and sealing cracks on streets and alleys. City crews will do some of the work, and a yet to be determined contractor will do the rest.

The times may change due to weather or other unforeseen events. Any part of the list that isn’t accomplished will be moved to the top of next spring’s list. The projects for this season are as follows:

— One block of East Nevada Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue was scheduled for reconstruction the week of April 16.

— General patching and maintenance is scheduled for throughout the city on the week of April 23, and on several other weeks throughout the summer.

— About 7,000 linear feet of Palmer Drive and West Nicklaus are scheduled for mill and overlay on the weeks of April 30 and May 25.

— Buffalo Stage Road is scheduled to get about 3,600 linear feet of mill and overlay work done on the week of June 11.

— More mill and overlay work is scheduled for the week of June 18 on 2,600 feet of Pheasant Run and Stillwater Lane.

— One block of Husky Street is set to get mill and overlay work done on the week of June 25.

— Another block on Eighth Street West is scheduled for mill and overlay work on the week of July 16.

— A reconstruction of one block of Fifth Street East is scheduled for the week of July 30.

— A reconstruction of one block of Sixth Street East is scheduled for the week of Aug. 13.

— One block of mill and overlay work on Third Avenue East North is scheduled for the week of Aug. 27.

— Two blocks of mill and overlay work on First Avenue East is scheduled for work on the weeks of Sept. 17 and 28.

— One block of reconstruction is being done on Ninth Street East on the week of Oct. 8.

— The season will conclude with weeks of alley paving, from the week of Oct. 25 until weather prohibits further work. The city is targeting the alley between Sixth Avenue East and Fifth Avenue East on the 1300 block, the alley between Seventh Avenue East and Sixth Avenue East on the 800, 1200 and 1300 blocks, the alley between Eighth Avenue East and Seventh Avenue East on the 800 and 1000 block and the alley between Eighth Avenue West and Ninth Avenue West on the 800, 900 and 1000 block.
