Lakers AA belt Mariners A in Legion baseball season opener

POLSON — Johan Freudenburg had four hits and Taylor Morton drove in six runs as the Kalispell Lakers AA opened the American Legion baseball season Wednesday evening with a 25-0 triumph over the Mission Valley Mariners A.

Freudenburg and Taylor Morton both homered.

Keaden Morisaki, Randy Stultz, AJ Jones, Morton and Eric Seaman all had doubles for the Lakers.

Stultz also tripled.

Four Laker pitchers — Drew Scherrer, Logan Siblerud, Morton and Sam Elliott — combined on a 1-hitter.

The Lakers play a nonconference doubleheader at the Missoula Mavs on Sunday, starting at 1 p.m.
