Moviegoers going nowhere after show

According to the Whitefish Police Department, someone reported that her daughter and a friend were locked inside the mall after seeing a movie there. A theater employee let them out of the mall.

A man reported that his wallet and cigarettes were missing from his kitchen table. He said it appeared he left his door unlocked.

A man from Nevada called to inquire if it was legal to drive a golf cart on the road in Whitefish. Police answered his questions.

A man with a gun reported that a dog was barking at his 2-year-old daughter and if the owner of the animal didn’t get it on a leash, he would kill the dog. The dog owner then allegedly followed the man in his car and the man started to pull his gun off his hip. Police spoke with both men and with the dog owner about leash laws.

A person called with questions about city ordinances regarding ducks.

Missy, a female husky, was reunited with its owner after a dog-sitter reported the canine was stolen while it was tied up outside.

Someone reported that a small group of people, possibly homeless, were hanging out near a church and were making comments and intimidating people coming out of a nearby library, according to the Kalispell Police Department. Men in the group allegedly made inappropriate comments to female library customers. Church leaders didn’t want the transients hanging around either, and police cleared them out.

A friendly Rotweiler followed some kids to a motel. The owner was contacted and was going to pick up the dog.

A man reported that another man had allegedly stacked a bunch of tree branches and debris in the alley behind the house and the man’s wife can’t get out of the driveway. Police spoke with both neighbors and they said it would be taken care of.

Someone who was working on replacing a light pole and concrete at an area business said he witnessed a man who was stumbling, falling and nearly passed out on a bench. The man was also allegedly yelling obscenities at customers. When police spoke with the man, he said he was fine and would mind his Ps and Qs.

A doctor reported that an irate driver was yelling and honking at him while several people were walking in the area. Police spoke to both drivers about their conduct.

A pilot attempting to land at the Glacier Park International Airport was hit with a green laser light, according to an airport employee. The person reporting the incident believed it may have come from the area of Birch Grove, Mountain Vista Way or Jackson Peak Way. Police were advised.

A woman reported to the Columbia Falls Police Department that she had received a strange phone call that sounded like fraud. She found that the phone number was for a prize scam hotline. She said the man asked her if she would be home in the evening and allegedly made vulgar threats to her.
