Polson netters clobber C-Falls

POLSON — The Polson girls swept to a 7-0 win while the boys cruised to a 5-2 victory over Columbia Falls in a Northwest A conference tennis matchup on Thursday afternoon.

Shea McGuinness, Qia Harlan, Josie Peterson and Ara Mercer picked up singles wins for the Pirates. Peterson and Mercer won every game of their matches, and Polson dropped only three games in all four matches combined.

The dominance carried over to doubles play, where Kyler Lundeen and Berkely Ellis and Megan Rost and Elizabeth Violett didn’t drop a game.

The boys were made to sweat a bit more, but still escaped with a win comfortably.

Joe McDonald dropped just one game in his match, and Anton Lefthand cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win. Columbia Falls’ singles win came courtesy of Dillon Washington in the No. 2 spot.

Tristan Grein/John Gilk picked up a victory for the Wildcats in doubles play.
