Elaine Mae Hopkins, 76

Elaine Mae Hopkins (nee Nichols) died peacefully in her sleep on April 25, 2018, surrounded by family.

“While we know she is now with our Savior Jesus and we will meet again,” our hearts will continue to mourn for her endearing presence. Elaine was born in Kalispell on Nov. 9, 1941, to Francis Kenyon and Martin Nichols, graduating from Bigfork High School in 1959.

She had many friends and work acquaintances and was very well known for her delicious pies. She cooked for many area restaurants and last worked for Bigfork IGA.

Elaine is survived by her brothers, Bob (Karla) Nichols, and Clare (Judy) Kenyon; sisters, Joyce (Jim) Hollopeter, and Linda (Steve) Thompson; and sister-in-law, Jacqueline Martin; also by sons, James, Lester, Howard and Bill. She has 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Milton “Toad” Hopkins and son John Hopkins.

The family wishes to thank all those who gave support, love and continued friendship throughout her life.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 27, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home.

Memorial services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, at Crossroads Fellowship, with interment at Lonepine Cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to celebrate Elaine’s life at Swan River Community Hall following ceremonies. Please bring any food items you would like to share for potluck.
