Gary Spannuth, 75

| April 27, 2018 4:00 AM

Gary Spannuth passed away April 21, 2018, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula at the age of 75.

He was born June 3, 1942, in Hamilton. Gary attended school in Hamilton. He was a member of the 1959 state Basketball Championship team and has many medals for track.

Gary and his father Ed opened the Arctic Cat snowmobile shop. Later, the opportunity presented itself to work for the Arctic Cat distributor where he traveled in five states. Later, he and his family moved from Idaho back to Montana to begin a new adventure. They opened the Jesco Boat Center, in Kalispell, for many fun activities folks got to enjoy. Who doesn’t love to go “boating” in the beautiful lakes and rivers in Montana?

His loyal partner and loving wife Jan, who had been by his side since 1964, decided to retire after 28 fun-filled years and they moved to Hamilton, where they happily resided.

Gary was preceded in death by his mother Eileen, and son Taff.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jan; father, Ed; and brothers, Robert (Darolyn) Spannuth and Bob Kelly.

A casual reception will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 30, at the Daly-Leach Community Room in Hamilton.
