Dorothy 'Dot' Jeanette Hoover, 86
Dorothy “Dot” Jeanette Hoover, 86, passed away on June 7, 2018, at North Valley Hospital in Whitefish.
Dot was born on June 12, 1931, in Bowbells, North Dakota, where she resided until she married Bob J. Hoover on Sept. 11, 1954, in Williston, North Dakota, where they made their home.
Dot was a loving homemaker who enjoyed camping trips, fishing, golfing, sewing, restoring antique furniture, do-it-yourself home projects, and hosting dinner parties for friends and family. She rejoined the workforce after raising two children as an administrative assistant at John Kinnard Stock Brokers.
Fifteen years later she and Bob retired and moved to Whitefish where they enjoyed golfing, and visits from friends and family. She also enjoyed searching for treasures in resale shops and crocheting gifts for family.
Dot was preceded in death by her son, Jon Hoover and husband, Robert Hoover.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane (Craig) Audet; daughter-in-law, Cindy Hoover; grandchildren, Essie (Clif) Lynner, Cole (Sarah) Hoover, Taylor (Patrick) Matecki, and Marrin (Jerel) Hafner; and great-grandchildren, Marlei, Jon, Anderson, Evie, Coral, Barrett and Bayle.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, at Riverview Cemetery in Williston, North Dakota, for friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meals on Wheels, Whitefish Senior Center, in Whitefish.
