Barbara Faye Arthur, 83

| August 12, 2018 4:00 AM

Barbara Faye Arthur passed away on July 19, 2018, in San Diego.

She was born on Oct. 7, 1934, in Glasgow, Montana, to Hershel and Irene Merry. Barbara and her family moved to a farm outside of Circle, Montana, when she was a young girl and she graduated from Circle High School in 1952.

Barbara met her husband, Bill Arthur, while attending school and they were married in 1953. They were true life partners for over 60 years when Bill died in 2015.

After high school she worked at the Circle bank until her first child was born in 1960 and thereafter was devoted to raising her children. Barbara was well known for her loving and caring nature toward everyone around her. She was the ultimate social butterfly with a beautiful, inviting smile and an irresistible laugh that drew people to her.

Some of Barbara’s favorite activities were shopping, cooking, camping, fishing, collecting antique vases, going to the casino and, in her later years, spending the winter months in Yuma, Arizona. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Janelle and Jamie, Janice, and Joie and Jeremy, all of San Diego; granddaughters, Natasha and Samantha; and siblings, Robert Merry, Kenneth Merry and Arlin Merry.

Barbara’s ashes will be returned to the Flathead Valley and spread in the beautiful mountains that she and Bill loved to much.
