Whitefish girls tie for 1st; boys 2nd at C-Falls Invite

COLUMBIA FALLS — Whitefish and Corvallis tied for the team title in girls play at the Columbia Falls Invitational golf tournament on Wednesday afternoon at Meadow Lake Resort.

Both schools finished with a 438 score.

Libby was third and 10 shots back.

Whitefish’s Ella Shaw and Macee Greenwood of Corvallis also shared medalist honors. Both shot 90.

Whitefish’s Megan Archibald tied for sixth with a 108.

The Corvallis girls had four in the top 15 to Whitefish’s two.

In boys play Stevensville ran away with the team title, posting a 328 total. Whitefish, 355, was a distant second and Frenchtown, 357, third.

Derek Wolff of Frenchtown shot a 77 to top the leader board.

Zel Frost of Stevensville and Cameron Kahle of Whitefish were second with 78s.

Stevensville had four in the top 10 as did Whitefish.

This was the first outing of the season for the eight participating schools.

Columbia Falls, Libby, Polson, Ronan and Whitefish will be in East Glacier on Saturday for the Browning Invitational.
