No. 25612 Service Date: August 15, 2018 DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICE REGULATION BEFORE THE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION OF THE STATE OF MONTANA IN THE MATTER OF Montana Tariff Bureau, Application for Approval of Increased Rates and Charges to Item #650. REGULATORY DIVISION DOCKET NO. T-18.43.RI NOTICE OF APPLICATION AND OPPORTUNITY TO PROTEST On August 3, 2018, Montana Tariff Bureau ("MTB"), Agent, for and on behalf of the member carriers to Household Goods Tariff No. 1, filed a request for increased rates and charges to Item 650, Montana Tariff Bureau, Household Goods Tariff No. 1 with the Montana Public Service Commission ("Commission"). The increases requested cover the cost of packing containers, packing and unpacking charges on household goods movements in Montana. The increases range between 3.85% to 50.32%, and average 7.35%. Included in this request is an increase on Wood Crating by 50% to cover increases in the price of lumber between 2009 and 2017. Wood Crating is only used in 1 of 20 moves according to the Montana Tariff Bureau. The Wood Crating charge is increasing by $3.90 from $7.75 to $11.65. The application on file at the Montana Public Service Commission outlines the specific individual proposed tariff changes. If allowed, the increase would become effective September 17, 2018, unless protests and/or requests for hearing are received. The Commission can also decide to schedule a hearing on its own initiative. Written protests or requests for hearing must be mailed with a postmark date of no later than August 29, 2018 to the Montana Public Service Commission, 1701 Prospect Avenue, P.O. Box 202601, Helena, Montana 59620-2601. A copy of a protest must also be mailed to Montana Tariff Bureau, 1020 Isabella Avenue, The Villages, Florida 32159.
