Shaw leads Whitefish girls to golf title

MISSOULA — Four Whitefish girls scoring in the top 10 lifted the team to the title on Tuesday at the Corvallis Invitational golf tournament at the University of Montana Golf Course.

Ella Shaw fired a 95 for the Bulldogs to finish second overall.

Macee Greenwood of Corvallis was the medalist with an 80.

Megan Archibald, 101, Anyah Cripe, 110, were sixth and seventh and Kendall Reed, 114, eighth for Whitefish.

Whitefish scored 420 to finish 17 shots ahead of runner-up Corvallis.

Lizzie Opalka of Columbia Falls, 99, had the fourth-best individual round.

Stevensville, 325, took the boys title with Whitefish, 334, second, Corvallis, 365, third, and Columbia Falls, 366, fourth.

Zel Frost of Stevensville and Jayce Painter of Stevensville finished 1-2 with 78s.

Whitefish’s Drew Brozek, 80, and Grant Kahle, 83, were third and fourth.

Cameron Kahle of Whitefish was eighth with an 85, Cody Brothwell of Columbia Falls ninth with the same score and Jace Cripe of Whitefish 10th with an 86.
