Burglar steals cash and tools from Flathead High School
The Kalispell Police Department is looking for a man who broke into Flathead High School early Tuesday morning and stole cash and tools while causing considerable damage.
According to Principal Michele Paine, the man entered the school at about 2:38 a.m. She said it was believed he entered through the construction site. According to the 911 dispatch log, there was an unsecured fence.
He was seen on security cameras throughout the school. After trying to kick in the main office door, he used what appeared to be a hammer to smash the glass in a door window to the activities office.
After being in the school for about 15 minutes, the man then left the building before returning about 10 minutes later.
When he entered the second time, he went back to the activities office, broke into a closet and a safe, taking $1,200. He also pried open locked desk doors and ransacked them. He pried open a cash drawer, but it was empty.
The man also kicked in the door to the principal’s office. He broke into a classroom and stole tools from the construction site before leaving.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Kalispell Police Department at 758-7780.
