Mayme Mullis, 92

On Dec. 15, 2018, Mayme Mullis passed from this life to her heavenly home surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 14, 1926, in Utica, Montana, to Clarence and Dollie Rung. She was the youngest of four children.

In 1937, the family moved to Lake County and farmed south of Polson for many years. Mayme attended rural school through eighth grade and graduated from Polson High School in 1944. She went to Kinman Business University in Spokane graduating with a bachelor’s degree in secretarial science. She then returned to Montana where she worked in the secretarial field for many years.

Mayme married Lloyd Mullis in 1947 and they later divorced. They had three children, Theresa, Wanda and Paul. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, making quilts and afghans, dancing and music of all kinds.

Mayme was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and an infant brother.

She is survived by Theresa (Dale) Darsow, Wanda Ring, and Paul (Janet) Mullis, grandchildren Mike Zorn, Mark Darsow, Misty Turpin, Gordon Jewett, Jim Boyd, Marci Whitehurst and Daniel Mullis, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, and nephews and cousins.

Services for Mayme will be held at 1 p.m. Dec. 22 at the Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. A luncheon will follow.
