Bigfork Playhouse Children's Theatre holds auditions
The Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theater invites students in grades two through six to audition, Tuesday, Jan. 8, for the cast of “The Great Ghost Chase.”
Harriet Hollyhock’s plane is forced to land due to a storm, giving her a chance to visit her renowned cousin, Dr. Horace Roy, who operates an asylum for excessively nervous patients. Things aren’t “normal” at the institution. A poltergeist has been freed by an earthquake jolt. The Ghostchasers are called, but if the nasty ghost wasn’t trouble enough, the patients have locked up the staff, and no one can tell who’s who.
Auditions will be held at the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre afterschool center at 833 Grand Ave. Tuesday, Jan. 8, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for second- and third-grades, and 5:30-7:30 p.m. for fourth- through sixth-grades.
The production calls for a large cast of around 40. It costs nothing to audition and $50 to be a part of the show if cast. Students are asked to prepare a 30-second monologue or short selection from another play, poem or book, (There will be several available at the audition if you can’t find one) and plan to learn and sing at the audition. A song will be taught to all who audition. No experience is necessary and materials will be available at the theater. Wear comfortable shoes that you can move in.
If you’re not interested in stage work but would like to be involved, help is needed with building sets, props, costumes, lights and sound. Parental and student assistance is welcome.
