| February 5, 2018 7:55 PM

Frank S. Foot, 85, passed away in Kalispell on Jan. 29, 2018.

Frank was born to Guy K. and Dorothy Foot in Kalispell on July 23, 1932. There is an old brown barn still standing on the land where he was born. He attended school in Kalispell. For 10 years, Frank worked for the International dealer all over the Flathead area farming and logging. He then retired after 20 years from the county. He was an active member of the Operating Engineers Union for 40 years, and a member of the E board for two of those years.

He was married to Gladis Longacre until her death. In 1992, he married Miriam Batt, and they settled in the home they built together to live out his golden years with his “Sweetie” and their dearly loved doggies.

Frank was a visitor at heart, loved among many friends and family and could always be counted on for a good story or two. He had a sharp memory of his fun and colorful life, and loved to do the daily crosswords and crypto puzzles in the daily newspaper. He loved to garden and share his techniques and harvests. Frank was also an avid reader and enjoyed a good mystery.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Charles and John, and sister Mary Harker.

He is survived by his wife, sisters Alice Dettwiler and Elizabeth “Libeth” Merritt, stepsons Lloyd Waller, Steven Waller, Jerry Longacre and Ron Longacre, and stepdaughters Cynthia Whitbeck and Lynne Cook, along with numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Frank’s family would like to extend their deep-felt gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Kalispell Regional Medical Center for the loving care they gave him in his last days.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you make a donation to the hospice program in your community.
