Prep Basketball Utter, Thier push Eureka past Troy

TROY — Sienna Utter scored 23 points and Eryn Thier had 17 points and six rebounds to help Eureka spill Troy 55-39 in a District 7B girls basketball game Friday evening.

Avory Escobar had a team-high eight rebounds to go with five points for Eureka.

Liz Pacella chalked up four assists for the Lions.

Troy jumped out to a 17-16 lead, but it was all Eureka after that as the Lions (9-6 overall, 4-2 league) swept the season series with the Trojans.

Kaitlin Downey led Troy in scoring with 12 points. Allie Caldwell finished with 11.

BIGFORK — Back-to-back 19-point quarters helped Bigfork roll by Polson in a nonconference game.

Polson held a 19-14 lead after the first eight minutes, but Bigfork tallied 19 points in the second quarter to lead 33-26 at the half and 19 more in the third quarter for a 52-36 advantage.

Beau Santisteven netted 18 points for Bigfork and Anders Epperly added 17

Asa Askin had 14 points and Connor Lanier 13 for Polson.
