School calendar

- A Valentine’s dance will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 10 at Linderman Education Center, 124 Third Ave. E, Kalispell and is hosted by Kalispell Parks and Recreation. Cost is $5 per person and $15 for a family of four. There will be a DJ, refreshments and door prizes. For more information call Celeste Palmer at 758-7848.

- The Bigfork Elementary and Middle School science fair will be from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 15 in the middle school gym. Community members interested in judging this event may contact Michelle Kaney at mkaney@bigfork.k12.mt.us.

- Kila School will hold a sixth- through eighth-grade dance from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 16. Admission is $4. Concessions will be available.

- Fair-Mont-Egan students will have an early release at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 16.

- The Fair-Mont-Egan pie auction and talent show is set for Feb. 16. The seventh and eighth graders are slated to perform “The Lion King.” A spaghetti dinner will also be served. Proceeds benefit the eighth-grade history trip.

- Feb. 16 is the deadline to register for Little Dribblers basketball through Kalispell Parks and Recreation. This program is geared to children kindergarten through second grade and will be an introduction to the basics. The program will be held on Saturdays, March 10 through April 14 at Russell Elementary. - School will be in session Feb. 19 for Bigfork School District students. It is a make-up day for the school closures in September that were due to cyber threats.

- Columbia Falls, Creston, Fair-Mont-Egan, Kalispell, Kila, Olney-Bissell, Swan River and West Valley school districts have no school on Feb. 19. It is President’s Day.

- The Flathead County Spelling Bee will be held at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 22 in the Glacier High School Performance Hall.

- Missoula Children’s Theatre will be at West Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 20 and Feb. 21 in the West Valley School big gym and at 8 a.m. on Feb. 23.

- Smith Valley School will have an early release on Feb. 21.

- A Manufacturing and Technology Expo and Kalispell Mini Maker Faire are scheduled Feb. 23-24. From 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 23, local manufacturers will offer hands-on experiences and demonstrations at the expo. - There is no school for Evergreen students on Feb. 28 for parent-teacher conferences.

- A Rankin Elementary rally is planned at 10 a.m. March 3 for families and children who will attend the new school in the 2018-19 school year. There will be refreshments and an opportunity to sign the gym floor before the hardwood is installed. The school is located at 2155 Airport Road in Kalispell.

- Creston School will host a Child Find screening from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. March 6. No appointment is necessary. Children will be screened in hearing, vision, speech and language skills to identify or evaluate disabilities. The screening is free and open to Cayuse Prairie, Creston, Swan River, Fair-Mont-Egan and Deer Park families. - Kalispell and Smith Valley students will be dismissed early on March 7 for teacher training.

- The 4-H Interstate Exchange spaghetti supper and dessert auction will begin at 5:30 p.m. March 10 at the Eagles, 37 First St. W. in Kalispell. Cost is $6 per person or $20 for a family of four. Proceeds will benefit the 4-H Interstate Exchange program. This year, 4-H members from Flathead County will exchange with Delaware 4-H members from New Castle County.

The competition is open to seventh through 12th graders. Interested students should contact his or her respective school to find out of the school is participating and to sign up. - Fair-Mont-Egan students will have an early release at 1:30 p.m. March. 16.

- An eighth-grade girls camp-in is scheduled at West Valley School from 6 p.m. March 16 to 9 a.m. March 17.

- Kalispell Parks and Recreation will hold its Spring Out Camp from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. March 26-30 at Elrod Elementary. Cost is $30 per day. For more information call 758-7975.
