Quilt Artist Dawn Siden of Somers has been accepted as a finalist in the 2018 Imagine Quilt Competition at the 29th annual Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival. The festival will be held in Hampton, Virginia from Feb. 22-25.

Siden’s quilt, “Hummingbird Haven,” will be on display at the show along with many other quilts, all competing for prizes. Winners will be selected at the show and announced on the competition’s website, www.quiltfest.com, on Thursday, Feb. 22.

“Quilting is truly textile art,” said David Mancuso, of Mancuso Show Management. “Every quilt that is displayed at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival takes great skill and talent to make it come to life. This quilt competition incorporates pieces from the best quilters in the U.S. that will be judged and on display to be enjoyed by quilt enthusiasts and other quilt artists.”

Besides the competition quilts on display, the Quilt Festival will feature workshops and lectures taught by renowned faculty, a wearable art competition, a fashion show, a Game Zone, a Merchant’s Mall and a beautiful collection of special exhibits, including many presented by local quilt guilds.
