Body of missing Polson man recovered
The body of a missing Polson man was found Tuesday afternoon.
Kyle Butterhof, 26, went missing Feb. 23, according to his mother Cindy Bellik.
According to Lake County Sheriff Don Bell, the Two Bear Air search and rescue helicopter located Butterhof’s body on a cliff below the SKQ Dam observation lookout.
No foul play is suspected and the cause and manner of death are pending further investigation.
Bell said that Butterhof’s remains will be transported to the Montana State Crime Lab in Missoula for an autopsy.
Using social media to try to find him prior to Tuesday, Bellik said that Butterhof had Asperger’s syndrome and was “high functioning.”
She also confirmed that Butterhof was “suicidal” when he was last seen.
Butterhof’s car was discovered parked at SKQ Dam just outside Polson over the weekend.
