| January 7, 2018 11:30 AM

Betty Mae Zelezny Morris, 97, of Conway, Arkansas, passed away Jan. 5, 2018.

She was born in Rollins on May 31, 1920, to Joseph and Birdie Zelezny, pioneers of the West.

Betty always had an adventurous spirit, serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a registered nurse, followed by a year working in the Alaska territory. The greatest adventure of all was meeting the love of her life, Manford.

She greatly loved her family and pets, Montana, the Chicago Cubs, and San Antonio Spurs.

She was preceded by her parents, sister Anna Murphy (Walter), and brothers Gene and Bill (Virginia) Zelezny.

Betty is survived by her husband of 66 years, Manford; daughters, Cheryl Wood (Keith) and Mary Scruggs (Jim Roy); and son, James; grandsons, Kyle and Stewart Scruggs; granddaughters, Hannah Humphrey (Bryan), Claire Truban (Mitchell), and Emily Wood; and great-grandchildren, Finn and Mae Humphrey.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Beverly, Linda, Scarlet, David, Rubye and Wilma for all their loving care.

A memorial service will be held at a future date.

The family requests memorials be made to Young Life of Central Arkansas, or Family Life Bible Church for Matamoros Children’s Home.
