- Kalispell Parks and Recreation will host a cheerleading camp for children ages six and up on Jan. 13 at Flathead High School. Participants will learn cheers, chants, jumps and stunts from local cheerleaders. Participants will also perform at halftime during a varsity basketball game. Cost is $46 per camp and a portion of proceeds benefit the high school cheerleading squads. For more information call 758-7717.
- The Flathead County 4-H food fair will be held Jan. 13 at Kalispell Center Mall. Judging begins at 9:30 a.m. This year’s theme is “Montana Grown” and there are 18 categories in the competition.
- School will be in session Jan. 15 for students in Whitefish School District as a make-up day for the school closures due to cyber threats.
- School is in session on Jan. 15 for students in Columbia Falls School District in order to make up the snow day on December 20.
- There is no school Jan. 15 in Evergreen, Kalispell and West Valley. Schools may be conducting teacher training or observing Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
- The community is invited to attend a PTA Reflections art show and reception at Bigfork High School in the library from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 16. Refreshments will be provided.
- ImagineIF Kalispell will host a teen social from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Jan. 18 for grades sixth through 12th. There will be free food, gaming, and crafts. This month’s featured craft will be creating a mosaic using Mardi Gras beads.
- Kalispell students will have an early release on Jan. 19 for professional development.
- Jan. 21 is an early-release day for students in Kalispell Public Schools.
- There is no school for students in Whitefish School District on Jan. 22 for teacher training.
- West Valley School will hold internet safety training for parents and students from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 23.
- Learn to skate at Woodland Ice Center with beginner lessons Jan. 23 through Feb. 1. Lessons are held from 3:50 to 4:15 p.m. or from 4:20 to 4:45 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Cost is $51 and includes skate rental. Participants must provide their own helmet. For more information call 758-7717.
- Kalispell Montessori Elementary, 349 Willow Glen Drive, Kalispell, is holding an informational night on Jan. 24 for families interested in enrolling in the elementary level (grades first through sixth) for the 2018-19 school year. The evening will begin with a dinner at 5 p.m. followed by presentations by students and teachers on the Montessori method from 5:30 to 6 p.m. RSVP is requested by calling 755-3826 or email frontdesk@kalispellmontessori.com. - A half day is scheduled at Olney-Bissell School on Jan. 25 for parent-teacher conferences.
- There is no school Jan. 30-31 at Cayuse Prairie for parent-teacher conferences.
- Jan. 26 is the deadline to register for Little Squirts basketball through Kalispell Parks and Recreation. This introduction to basketball will be held between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturdays, Feb. 10 through March 17 at Hedges Elementary. Cost is $37. Call 758-7717.

- Fair-Mont-Egan students will have an early release at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 16.
- The Fair-Mont-Egan pie auction and talent show is set for Feb. 16. The seventh and eighth graders are slated to perform “The Lion King.” Proceeds benefit the eighth-grade history trip.
- Feb. 16 is the deadline to register for Little Dribblers basketball through Kalispell Parks and Recreation. This program is geared to children kindergarten through second grade and will be an introduction to the basics. The program will be held on Saturdays, March 10 through April 14 at Russell Elementary.
