Marie Grace (Ferraro) Williams, 92

| January 13, 2018 11:37 PM

Marie Grace (Ferraro) Williams, 92, left us on Jan. 8, 2018, after a one-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Marie’s parents were Frank and Josephine (Maffeo) Ferraro. She was born April 6, 1925, and was the middle child of three sisters, Marion (Ferraro) Griesman and Elizabeth/Betty (Ferraro) Stute, in Los Angeles.

Marie met her husband, Charles Williams, on a double date with her sister Betty who was on a date with Chuck’s brother Fred. Chuck and Marie were married in August 1943 and lived in the Los Angeles area. They had three children, Ronald (Mission Viejo, California; deceased July 2017), Rodney (Long Beach, California), and Judy (Kalispell).

Marie is blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren in California and Arizona, as well many nephews, nieces, cousins and longtime friends scattered around the country.

Chuck and Marie moved to Lynwood, California, to raise their family and Marie went to work for Sears in Compton, California, doing catalog sales and customer service.

After Chuck retired, they moved to Sebastopol, in Northern California. Marie continued to work at Sears in sales/service until her retirement. In 2005, Chuck and Marie moved to Kalispell. Chuck passed away in 2009 of cancer.

Marie was active in her children’s lives as a den mother for both Cub Scouts and Brownie/Girl Scouts. She loved to garden and sew. She also crocheted, knitted and tried many other crafts. Her daughter remembers her making matching outfits for her and her Patty Play Pal doll as well as clothes for her Barbie doll.

Marie’s family and friends frequently praise her for being a sweet and caring person, always there to support others. She always remembered everyone’s birthdays and anniversaries. She was known for her beautiful smile.

A special thank you to all the hospice team who were there for this difficult journey (especially Jessica and Kimberly). And to the caregivers from Home Options who helped make her final months easier. And to Brendan House for their “TLC” the last weeks of her life. And to Mike from St. Matthew’s Church for his frequent visits.
