Lynn Van Hoven, 69
With his adoring wife Debbie and close “outlaw” buddy of the family Kathy Puryear by his side, Lynn Van Hoven passed away peacefully on Saturday Jan. 13, 2018, after a long battle with pneumonia.
He was born on Jan. 13, 1949, in Whitefish, “and reunited on his birthday, Jan. 13, 2018, with his mother Ruth and father Carl into their loving arms.”
Lynn married wife Debbie on Sept. 1, 1984, in Seattle where they lived until 1998 when they moved to Scottsdale, Arizona.
Lynn is survived by his brother Jan Van Hoven (Doris) of Colville, Washington, and Kent Van Hoven (Judy) of Holden, Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews.
Lynn graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in business administration and was a big Montana Grizzly fan.
Lynn served four years in the Navy as a communications technician.
He worked over 30 years in the pre-arranged cemetery, funeral and cremation sales industry.
Lynn was such a loving and caring man. He had a great sense of humor, was very intelligent, loved life, family, friends, and could even make a stranger go from having a bad day to having a good day. Lynn loved to travel, bike ride (Ruby, the tandem bike) with wife Debbie, and doing evil Sudoku puzzles.
Cremation arrangements were made by Neptune Society.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, at St. Anthony’s in the Desert Episcopal Church, 12990 E. Shea Boulevard, Scottsdale.
If friends wish they may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105; Phone: 800-805-5856; or online.
