| January 24, 2018 12:43 PM

Diana Jean Hiltpold, of Dripping Springs, Texas, passed away in her home on Jan. 5, 2018, at the age of 76, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Aug. 23, 1941, in Conrad, Montana, the middle daughter of three children born to John and Tommye Eppe. She graduated from Conrad High School in 1959.

She married William F. Higgins and they had three children. They were divorced in 1975 while living in Whitefish. She later moved to Houston where she met and married Steve Hiltpold on Oct. 16, 1982.

She had a deep love for tennis and played weekly until she was no longer able. She enjoyed riding horses and always loved her cats. But the thing she loved the most, besides her children, was her garden. She was a master gardener and nurtured and loved all her plants. Her garden gave her a deep sense of peace and joy and she was nurtured by it until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Johnny.

She is survived by her husband Steve, her sister Connie, her three children, Jodi, Michele and Jeff, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

She will be remembered for her generous and compassionate heart, her fierce passion and her courage. She will be missed by all.
