Basketball Bigfork scrapes by Missoula Loyola
MISSOULA — Bigfork limited Missoula Loyola to a single point in the game’s final 2:10 as it eked out a 58-54 road win in a clash of Class B girls basketball powers on Saturday.
Jaime Berg led the charge for Bigfork, notching a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Shae Anderson chipped in 11 points.
The Valkyries trailed by four at halftime but outscored the Breakers 18-14 in both the third and fourth quarters to overcome Tessa Burke’s 26 points for Missoula Loyola.

MISSOULA — Flathead locked down on defense in a Western AA win over Missoula Hellgate.
The Bravettes did not allow more than eight points in a single quarter. Flathead outscored Hellgate 12-8 in the decisive third quarter.
Mary Heaton paced the Bravettes with nine points, while Clara Vandenbosch and Maddie Walters both pitched in eight.

The Wolfpack pulled away early with a 14-3 advantage in the first quarter.
“Defense, certainly in the first half, kind of set the tone for us,” Glacier coach Bill Sullivan said.
Aubrie Rademacher paced 10 Glacier scorers with nine points.

Douglas finished with 14 rebounds and Gedlaman totaled 11.
Columbia Falls won the rebounding battle 42-27.
It was Senior Night for three Wildkats — Douglas, Gedlaman and Diane Vasquez.
Jaelynn Askan led Ronan offensively with 11 points.

Sienna Utter poured in a game-high 17 points, and Erynn Thier added 11. Maggie Graves, Karlee Frost and Cassie Hammack threw in 10 apiece.
Graves also tallied eight rebounds and five steals. Hammack had seven rebounds.

MISSOULA — Bigfork raced out to a big lead after three quarters, giving itself ample cushion to withstand a late rally from Missoula Loyola in a win.
The Vikings, led by Anders Epperly’s 18 points, outscored the Rams 48-29 over the first three periods.
Logan Gilliard, another of Bigfork’s nine scorers, added 14 points.
Jack Lincoln and Scotty Twite paced Loyola with 17 apiece.

The Wolfpack, which trailed 14-13 at halftime, scored 17 points in the third quarter and 22 in the fourth behind 14 points from Drew Engellant, 13 from Kody Jarvis and 11 from Caden Harkins.
Camdyn LaRance poured in 19 points for Big Sky in a losing effort.

Worster scored just eight points, a season low, but Hellgate’s Bridger Deden poured in 20 and Dylan Holst added 12 to bolster the home team.
Tyler Johnson led Flathead with 16 points, and Sam Elliott added 11.
The Knights outscored the Braves 32-20 in the second half.

RONAN — Ronan mounted a furious, fourth-quarter rally to force overtime, but Columbia Falls dominated the extra period to pick up a Northwest A conference win.
Columbia Falls, which led for the first three quarters, struggled offensively down the stretch and was outscored 12-3 in the fourth. But the Wildcats responded by winning the overtime period 10-2.
Austin Green and Lowell Panasuk split scoring honors with 14 points apiece, and Drew Morgan added 13.
Zeke Misa scored 19 for Ronan.
