Robert James 'Butch' Taylor, 55

Robert James “Butch” Taylor, 55, passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at Heritage Place in Kalispell.

Born to Robert and Sandra Taylor in Libby on Sept. 15, 1962, Butch attended school in Libby and Judith Gap, where he graduated high school in 1980.

He returned to Libby and married Coreena Orr in 1981. Butch and Coreena moved to Wasilla, Alaska, then to Yakima, Washington, where they had two daughters, Melissa and Melanie. They later moved back to Libby and then settled in Kalispell.

Throu-ghout his life, Butch enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He had a passion for mechanics, especially muscle cars. He was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in the early ‘90s and struggled with the disease for many years. Butch and Coreena were divorced and he later married Karla Taylor.

After his MS progressed, Butch lived for several years in a nursing home in Polson where he met Jeanette Davis, who became his close friend and advocate. Jeanette was a special person in Butch’s life and was with him at the time of his passing.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Taylor and Sandra Peterson.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Coreena Muir, of Kalispell; daughters, Melissa Reynolds (Travis) and Melanie Taylor, both of Kalispell; stepmother, Linda Taylor, of Libby; siblings, Shannon Drapeau (Cody) of Libby, Patty McLain of Libby, Joe Sheasby (Michelle) of Spokane, and Shelly Taylor-Fletcher (Jim) of Libby; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will be holding a private service.
