Couch-surfing Canadian kicked out

A woman called the Whitefish Police Department to report a stranger in their home after her husband found him sleeping on the sofa. The husband checked his wallet and learned he was from Calgary. He soon woke up.

A caller reported nearly getting hit by a orange Ford truck with Minnesota plates. A pedestrian was also nearly hit. The driver flipped off the people and also made other inappropriate gestures toward the caller’s girlfriend.

A person called about a man in front of a business who was playing his guitar and had an unregistered dog. He wasn’t concerned about the guitar playing, but was about the dog.

A man called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report he was displeased about how his neighbor had removed trees from his property while he was out of town. He said he had given the man permission to take out the trees and while there was no damage to any structure, the ground was disturbed.

A passerby reported three dogs that had attacked and eaten a sheep. When a deputy contacted the owner, it was determined the dogs and sheep were all his, so there was no problem.

A caller reported a neighbor had a vehicle in the field for the last year and it blocked the view of the lake.

The Apple watch struck yet again, resulting in another errant 911 call.

A person called in about bullets flying over a house and near people on Belterra Lane near Bigfork. The person said the gun range was on Echo Bay Trail and did have backstops, but the people may have been using a rotary target that resulted in bullets ricocheting near them. When a deputy spoke with the range owner, he said the Sheriff’s Office had certified it and other law officers had determined it was legal and safe. The range owner said it has been an ongoing problem because people aren’t happy there is a range in the area. He said there was no way any bullets could have reached the area the caller said they had.

A woman called to report her neighbor had shot her dog in the leg with a BB gun while it was on the other person’s property. The dog was scheduled to have the BB removed.

A ongoing dispute between two neighbors over loud music will soon be solved after the music-lover received an eviction notice. The two parties agreed to avoid contact with each other.

A target shooter found a backpack with a 9 mm pistol inside.

In a sign of the times that will likely end soon, a caller reported large fireworks going off at the park near his home. He said the pyrotechnics were shaking his windows.

When a caller reported a drunk driver swerving all over Highway 206, a Columbia Falls Police officer later determined it was a woman dealing with her unruly dog in the back seat.

A woman reported a large, drunk man with a shaved head who was harassing her. She said the man was a friend of a neighbor who lived downstairs. An officer spoke with the man after he had left the building and told him stay away from the apartment building.

A man came to the Kalispell Police Department to report that workers threw shingles off a roof and damaged his vehicle.

A caller reported a large RV with Utah plates parked on the street with four dogs tied to the vehicle with a barbecue and bicycle with it. The owner of the vehicle was told to move along.

A person reported a cat in a box trap behind an area business. It was meowing and the person wanted to let it out, but couldn’t get to the trap. When an officer arrived, there were a number of people gathered. The cat didn’t have access to food or water and the only food nearby was a chicken carcass in a sealed box. The cat appeared to be feral as it was ratty and skittish. The officer released the cat.
