If there was a word for Bias Brewing, Kalispell’s newest brewery, it would be crisp. Crisp lines in the wood interior, crisp service, and pleasantly crisp accents to a selection of flavor-infused beers. Try a flight with a whole hops color pallette, or commit to one of our selections for Bias’ inaugural summer. Find them at 409 1st Avenue E, Kalispell.

Tea Pale Ale

The tea pale ale is Bias’ most popular brew — unsurprising, given its mild, light flavor that, according to one pleased patron, “dances on the tongue.” While some tea ales rely heavily on the flavor infusion for its character, Bias’ tea pale ale is less upfront. But don’t underestimate it; the tea flavor comes with a hint of sour. If you’re looking for a sipping beer with just a bit of kick, go with the crowd on this one.

Blackberry Sour

The blackberry sour starts off strong but delivers a more mild flavor. Not that that’s a bad thing — though not especially sour, this bright fuschia brew is pleasantly tart. It’s the sweet spot between a cider and spiked seltzer, which is to say, barely sweet. Not for those who prefer nose-scrunching flavors, but for a breezy summer evening, there are far worse ways to pass the time.

Chocolate Stout

Stouts have a heavy reputation — dark and strong — but Bias’ chocolate version subverts expectations. Its crisp flavor doesn’t hide behind the weight of the brew, and leaves the mouth with a slight dry feeling. Though often associated with some of the cold Northern countries, at Bias, this stout is cool for the summer.
